{"id":984,"date":"2009-05-03T17:43:25","date_gmt":"2009-05-04T00:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=984"},"modified":"2009-05-03T17:43:25","modified_gmt":"2009-05-04T00:43:25","slug":"dark-and-stormy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=984","title":{"rendered":"Dark and Stormy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seeing as we&#8217;re coming in to summer it seems only right that I look at more highball drinks.\u00c2\u00a0 You know them and I would certainly hope you love them.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, at least some of them.\u00c2\u00a0 When made right these simple cocktails can really be a perfect drink for the summer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"flickr-image aligncenter\" title=\"Lightning\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/86318258@N00\/3498419405\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3592\/3498419405_21fb45a780.jpg\" alt=\"Lightning\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On that note, it&#8217;s been raining in Boulder pretty much non-stop since Friday afternoon.\u00c2\u00a0 Truly summery no?\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s not been anything particularly major, but it does seem like a fitting start to this week&#8217;s cocktail, the Dark and Stormy.<\/p>\n<pre><strong>Dark and Stormy<\/strong><\/pre>\n<pre style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>2 oz Dark Rum\r\n3 oz Ginger Beer\r\nLime Wedge for Garnish<\/strong><\/pre>\n<pre style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>1) Build in a Highball glass over ice<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p>One slight problem.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve not been able to track down ginger beer proper.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve found a lot of different ginger ales, which should likely make due in a pinch, but I&#8217;d really like to find the real deal.\u00c2\u00a0 The good news is, it can also be made at home.\u00c2\u00a0 Stay tuned for progress on that one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seeing as we&#8217;re coming in to summer it seems only right that I look at more highball drinks.\u00c2\u00a0 You know them and I would certainly hope you love them.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, at least some of them.\u00c2\u00a0 When made right these simple cocktails can really be a perfect drink for the summer.
