\"ReykaWhat first struck me as I looked at the review bottle of Reyka<\/a> vodka I had been sent was the bottle itself and not how you’d think.\u00c2\u00a0 The bottle design is unique with “Iceland” (it’s home country) embossed around the shoulder, but that’s not what caught my eye.\u00c2\u00a0 What I really enjoy is the glass itself.\u00c2\u00a0 In a time where things are becoming purer, cleaner, more sterile, the glass in the Reyka bottle has tiny bubbles.\u00c2\u00a0 It reminds me of an earlier time when things were made by hand.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, don’t think I need saving from my naive views.\u00c2\u00a0 I have no doubt this design detail was fully intentional.\u00c2\u00a0 Matters not to me, though, I like it.<\/p>\n

Okay, moving on to what you’re really interested in, the spirit itself.\u00c2\u00a0 The color, as you’d fully expect is crystal clear.\u00c2\u00a0 The aroma is of clean alcohol only and the flavor is crisp and tremendously clean.\u00c2\u00a0 There is no aftertaste and the finish is very short.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a top shelf vodka to be sure.\u00c2\u00a0 This is going to sound campy, so brace yourself.\u00c2\u00a0 This vodka tastes like my mental image of Iceland.\u00c2\u00a0 Crisp glacial water flowing over lava rock.\u00c2\u00a0 Expanses of open country.\u00c2\u00a0 A slower pace of life.\u00c2\u00a0 Almost a return to times gone by.\u00c2\u00a0 Campiness over, thanks for indulging me.<\/p>\n

So, here’s the key point.\u00c2\u00a0 I like this vodka.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s crisp, clean and nearly flavor\/odorless.\u00c2\u00a0 Exactly what you’re looking for in a high quality vodka.\u00c2\u00a0 To make things even better, it’s reasonably priced ~$30 depending where you go.\u00c2\u00a0 And, to seal the deal, it just won the Vodka Trophy at the International Wine and Spirits Competition<\/a> held in London.<\/p>\n
