{"id":1714,"date":"2011-03-22T13:36:26","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T20:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=1714"},"modified":"2011-03-22T21:50:48","modified_gmt":"2011-03-23T04:50:48","slug":"review-vesica-vodka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=1714","title":{"rendered":"Review &#8211; Vesica Vodka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1715\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Vesica Vodka\" src=\"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Vesica-vodka175.jpg\" alt=\"Vesica Vodka Bottles\" width=\"175\" height=\"263\" \/>Ever heard of a <a title=\"Wikipedia - Vesica Piscis\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/wiki\/Vesica_piscis\" target=\"_blank\">vesica piscis<\/a>?\u00c2\u00a0 Neither had I until I received a sample of <a title=\"Vesica Vodka\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vesicavodka.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vesica vodka<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 A vesica piscis is the shape formed by the intersection of two circles of the same radius when the edge of each circle lies on the center of the other.\u00c2\u00a0 You&#8217;ll find this shape all over the world in both art and nature.\u00c2\u00a0 Though, the place you&#8217;ve most likely seen it is in the form of a solar eclipse.\u00c2\u00a0 As the moon begins\/ends its transit in front of the sun.<\/p>\n<p>The folks at Vesica vodka embraced this shape for their bottle design, which I find really interesting.\u00c2\u00a0 The 750ml bottle is shaped like a crescent and combines with the circular 1l bottle to form, both in shape and volume, the 1.75l bottling.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, granted, I&#8217;m easily entertained by geeky math stuff, but I think that&#8217;s a pretty cool idea on their part.<\/p>\n<p>As for the vodka, I liked it as well.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s bordering on that mythical perfect vodka, colorless, odorless and flavorless.\u00c2\u00a0 Vesica has the first two down pat, but thankfully a bit of flavor remains, albeit very subtle.\u00c2\u00a0 The flavor is very crisp and clean, offering a only very slight sweetness in the finish.\u00c2\u00a0 The spirit was very smooth with little burn.\u00c2\u00a0 At only $13 for a 750ml bottle this is a great vodka to sample if you&#8217;re in the market.<del> Oh, and another plus, Vesica is potato based and completely gluten free.<\/del> *See comment below from fellow cocktail blogger <a title=\"Drink Snob\" href=\"http:\/\/drinksnob.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DrinkSnob<\/a> about gluten in distilled beverages.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a0 The product reviewed here was provided to me as a free sample.
