{"id":1604,"date":"2010-12-02T23:00:55","date_gmt":"2010-12-03T06:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=1604"},"modified":"2010-12-02T23:00:55","modified_gmt":"2010-12-03T06:00:55","slug":"review-avion-silver-tequila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=1604","title":{"rendered":"Review &#8211; Avi\u00c3\u00b3n Silver Tequila"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1605\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Avion Silver Tequila\" src=\"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/tequila_avion_silver150.jpg\" alt=\"Avion Silver Tequila\" width=\"150\" height=\"337\" \/>It seems the time is coming for premium vodka to step aside as the hip alcohol of choice.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve received a few top shelf tequilas in the preceding months and they&#8217;ve been good, really good.\u00c2\u00a0 <a title=\"Tequila Avion\" href=\"http:\/\/tequilaavion.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tequila Avi\u00c3\u00b3n<\/a>, the newest sample to cross my doorstep, is no different.\u00c2\u00a0 Avi\u00c3\u00b3n is a highland tequila from the high mountains of Jalisco.\u00c2\u00a0 After a long slow roasting process the agave is distilled in a hybrid stainless steel and copper pot still.\u00c2\u00a0 The distillate is then passed through a filtration process that the makers have deemed &#8220;ultra slow filtration&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 After the filtration process, which is said to take 10 times as long as traditional filtration, the result is Avi\u00c3\u00b3n Silver Tequila.<\/p>\n<p>But enough with the marketing spiel; how about we discuss what the tequila&#8217;s really like.\u00c2\u00a0 In a word, it&#8217;s great.\u00c2\u00a0 The aroma is of crisp agave.\u00c2\u00a0 The flavor follows suit with agave, subtle vegetal notes and a light sweetness.\u00c2\u00a0 Finally, in the finish you get more of that nice agave.\u00c2\u00a0 Overall the tequila is tremendously smooth but maintains its agave character throughout.\u00c2\u00a0 Very much looking forward to sampling this one in a <a title=\"CH - Margarita\" href=\"http:\/\/cocktailhacker.com\/?p=409\" target=\"_blank\">Margarita<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;re looking for a super premium tequila this holiday season you definitely won&#8217;t go wrong with a bottle of Avi\u00c3\u00b3n.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a0 The product reviewed here was provided to me as a free sample.
